Humble Beginnings

When I started my working career I did not have much drive or focus. I was strictly in survival mode. I did however have talent. That was probably my saving grace. Essentially, my talents allowed me to get by during that time when I had little direction. While I was working for a payroll company, the owners decided to sell the company to a large competitor. I had no idea what was going to happen or what my future would be. Fortunately for me the new company put a new president in charge to oversee the transition. This is when my professional and personal life changed forever. I noticed that he had something I had never seen demonstrated at such a high level – focus, drive, determination, and success.

That was amazing to me. To top things off my co-worker used to work for this gentleman a few years prior. He explained to me that this man used to be the manager of a small payroll branch just 5 years prior. In this short time he has now become regional vice president of a large international company and president of our company. How do you do that in just 5 short years I asked?

I discovered that he had a practice of constantly learning and practicing principles for success and abundance. They became the core of his belief system. Every morning before he left his house he would read through a stack of index cards. Each card contained a life principle that was important to him. They contained everything he believed about himself, his work, his character, and every other key component of his life. At that time he had 115 cards. I was stunned. I was impressed because I had never seen success demonstrated at this level. How many core beliefs do you have that shape your life and success?

This new president then did something that I would never have guessed. He published a letter to the entire company letting us know that he was making information concerning personal and professional development available to anyone who was interested. I was one of the only people who took advantage of his kind and generous offer. I am glad I did.

The first series I borrowed was called 'Lead the Field' by Earl Nightingale. I was hooked. This one series of six cassette tapes spoke to all the issues that were of concern to me. They helped me to see the world from a different point of view. In a word, I was enlightened. During my 45 minute commute to work I stopped listening to music and listened only to tapes on personal and professional development. I listened over and over and over and over again. After a while something amazing happened. I started to change as a person. I was more focused, more determined, more proficient, and much wiser. The best part was that my results were starting to change as well. But I am not talking about just my professional life, my entire life was altered. I was learning everything that I would have never learned in school. Frankly, I was learning what is rarely taught in schools from the masters of business and personal development. It was like having my own success coaches in the car with me.

Now before you think I am going off the deep end, you have to understand that I am not some strange new-ager. As a matter of fact I was raised in the church all my life. The beauty of what I found in much of the material I was exposed too was that it tied all the pieces together. It solidified much of what I had read and been taught in the Bible.

It helped me to see one of the greatest fundamentals in life and that is that life is based on laws and principles. It is not about techniques, tactics, strategies, or practices. Laws and principles rule the universe. Laws and principles are what all our practices, strategies, and techniques must be based upon. This is another indicator for the poor results people see in their lives. They have no sound principles. They have practices, habits, techniques, and the like. So what happens when the techniques you learned from your parents and society are no longer supported by the times you live in today? You will fail utterly. It is quite possible that the strategies that made people secure and successful 40 years ago will no longer be supported in the climate in which we live today. Does that make them wrong? Not really, just dated. But what if we could peel back the strategies and techniques to the laws and principles upon which they were founded? We would be able to thrive in any era or any place. We would be able to stake our claim and be successful on our own terms.

While I can not speak for you, I can say that there were not a lot of sound principles handed down to me. I was predisposed to do what those before me had done. Survive. Deep inside I knew I wanted more but I did not know how it could be achieved. I did not have the education, the influence, or the support that others seemed to have in order to do anything truly special in life.

So let me ask this question - what practices in your life are keeping you from the success and prosperity you truly desire and deserve? What belief systems do you hold to that are forcing your career, business, or personal relationships to flounder?

Sometimes the first step in learning is unlearning

In order to take the next step you will have to let go of some ways of thinking that are doing nothing but keep you small. These poor beliefs and ineffective practices keep you from reaching the next plateau in your life. Again, if you think your current methods are so great let's talk about your results. That is where the rubber meets the road. Your results will not lie for you or make excuses. If you think you are great in business all I need to see is your last financial statement. If you think you are the best at your job, all I need to see is your paycheck. If you think you are great parent then all I need to do is look at your children. Results do not lie.

If you are interested in bringing the pieces together and beginning to create a wave of success and fulfillment then read on

What happened in my life allowed me to create a wave of abundance that I was able to ride for nearly 15 years. You see I was a programmer and a network engineer. What my new found education did was to give me the foundation to improve on all the other areas that are critical to business and personal success. So if you are wondering, I did not spend time listening to information on how to be a better programmer or engineer, I needed information that would allow me to break the glass ceiling that was holding me back. I was learning from information that would make me successful. I listened and learned about goal setting and effectiveness, management, positive thinking, how to manage people, how to manage money, and the magic gems - sales, marketing, and negotiating. With these tools I has honed into a refined business man - not a technician. The power of what I now possessed was so great that it put me in place for the one thing that every hungry person wants - opportunity. It does not matter how great you are if there is no opportunity to show it. I started to see everything get better for me. Soon I was making more money than I could have imagined. In the years since I started my self-education my earnings have increased 10 fold. Not too bad.

Over the years I have made a significant investment in my self-education. I am certain that I have personally spent over $10,000 on books, tapes and CDs. But remember the key word here is not spent. The key word is investment. I was investing in my future. It has paid me back a thousand times over.

Success That Helps Others

I will let you in on a little secret. Once you are healthy you are able to help others. Just as the president of my former company shared with me, I have a heart to share with others. My self-education investment allowed me to not only help myself but also my family, friends, and associates. Aside from providing a comfortable living for my family I have taught classes on personal and professional development. I have helped business owners to develop strategies to save and grow their businesses. I have helped friends to improve their earnings potential. My investment in self-education and improvement has allowed me to be a real blessing to many people.

The whole purpose behind this site is to cast a larger net through the advent of technology to a global audience and inspire and challenge people to take charge of their lives by improving themselves.

It is not too late to become rich. It is not too late to retire comfortably. It is not too late to make sure your family will be taken care of. It is not too late to start a successful business. It is not too late to make sure children have a head start in life.

It is not too late to have the same information that has made others successful in a short period of time. If you know what they know you can do what they do. You can have what they have. Security and freedom.
